Pakistan’s digital healthcare industry has seen rampant growth during the pandemic. Previously Pakistan had approximately one doctor catering to every 1300 people. The pandemic further restricted access to quality healthcare services because of government-imposed lockdowns. Oladoc is one of the players which aims to provide Pakistan’s growing population of 220 million access to qualified doctors from the comfort of their homes. Apart from being a doctor booking platform, Oladoc has also introduced lab test bookings. It has served over 15 million patients through its network of 25000+ PMC verified doctors, across 100+ specialties. It aims to make healthcare in Pakistan accessible, affordable, and transparent for all.
Founded in 2016 by brothers Abid Zuberi (CEO) and Arif Zuberi (CTO), Oladoc’s doctor booking platform was developed in 2018. The founders have held noteworthy prior endeavors. Abid studied at LUMS and did his MBA from Concordia (Canada); he has previously worked at Nestle and Coca-Cola. Arif studied at Tampere University (Finland) before working at Nokia and Symphony Teleca.
